Kyoko Escamilla is a photographer, crafter, and apple farmer born and raised in Nagasaki, Japan. From an early age, she’s been passionate about comics and superheroes. Thanks to them, she learned english, heroism, and the fact that not everyone can pull off the cape look. “Superheroes were my first set of friends,” she says. Every weekend, she sells her knitted hats, original photos, and apples at the local farmer’s market. Kyoko has dogs named Bo, Rufio, Tink, Lux, Mowgli, and Theodore Bear. She can juggle, enjoys magic, and is better at Call of Duty: Black Ops than you are.

Ra Ra Riot is an indie rock band from Syracuse, NY that fuses swooning strings and intricate, emotional vocals to create a unique sound. Formed way back in 2006, they got their start doing shows around the Syracuse University campus and eventually moved up to music festivals. Consisting of a vocalist, guitarist, bassist, cellist, violinist, and drummer, they quickly started to grab attention thanks to their energetic live performances and the well-orchestrated layers of their music. RRR use their blog to show fans glimpses into their daily lives and into life on the road as they tour the world. Their second full-length album, The Orchard, drops today.

Graphic designer Hunson Nguyen is a student at Portland State University, creator of popular Tumblr themes, and former competitive swimmer. A prolific blogger, Hunson helps run several group Tumblrs including Typolicious, I Heart Oregon, and Graphic Everywhere. Jamie Beck knew she was a photographer ever since she picked up her mom’s Pentax camera at age 13. Since then, she’s strived every day to improve her craft. Her Tumblr blog overflows with her work, her travels, and her adventures in food. A contributor to dozens of editorial, food, art, and fashion magazines, Jamie created the ongoing Polaroid Project earlier this year. “What I love about Polaroid film is the notion that you only get one shot. Unlike digital where you can take hundreds on the same subject, the limitations of Polaroid film make you slow down and really be ready to capture a single image,” she says.
